A New Buffalo man was arrested Thursday morning in Saint Joseph for walking down Niles Avenue in the nude. The Saint Joseph Department of Public Safety says that it got a call shortly before ten AM about a naked man walking in the middle of Niles Avenue toward Botham. Officers found 32 year old Malik Nisar and took him into custody with no problems. He was taken to Lakeland Hospital, checked out, and released back into the custody of police. Nisar has now been charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure, which comes with a penalty of up to a year in jail. Police say that, prior to the incident, Nisar had voluntarily admitted himself into a hospital for a mental evaluation, but released. He then walked nude down Niles Avenue because he wanted to be sent back.
