Dignitaries from all over the Benton Harbor and Saint Joseph areas came out to Lake Michigan College on Thursday as a groundbreaking was held for the new Hanson Technology Center. The facility will house all of the programs LMC previously had at the MTEC building, as well as the new winemaking program. LMC President Doctor Bob Harrison says that it’ll give students a state of the art technology program right on the Napier Avenue campus.

Also Thursday, LMC announced that it’s now raised 70 percent of the 7.5 million dollar goal for its Campaign for Tomorrow. In the next few months, the campaign will go public to get the last bit of money it needs.
