Fewer Fatalities On MI Roads This Memorial Day Weekend Than Last Year

There were fewer fatalities on Michigan roads during the Memorial Day weekend this year, according to state police. This week, the totals for the weekend were released, and state police say that eight people were killed in six separate crashes for the weekend. That compares to 20 deaths in 19 crashes last Memorial Day weekend. This year, the holiday weekend was defined as being between six PM on Friday, May 22nd, to noon on Monday, May 25th. Police say that, of this year’s fatalities, two of the victims were not wearing seatbelts, and two involved alcohol, one with an off road vehicle.
