Saint Joseph has shown up on yet another top ten list, this time on NerdWallet.com in its list of the best places in Michigan to start a business. The site looked at 128 Michigan communities with six metrics to determine where an aspiring entrepreneur would be best off launching their enterprise. They are average revenue per business, the percentage of businesses with paid employees, the number of businesses per 100 people, the median annual income, the median monthly housing costs, and the unemployment rate for each community. On the list, Saint Joe ranks ninth, with the site noting the small businesses that you can find downtown, like Schu’s, and the big companies, like Whirlpool. NerdWallet also credits Cornerstone Alliance with helping to improve the business climate in Saint Joseph. First on the list is Auburn Hills, followed by Traverse City, Plymouth, Troy, Iron Mountain, Petoskey, Marshall, and Wixom. Coming in tenth is Ishpeming. You can see the article at the URL below:
